The Whitsunday Transit Family Fun Day offers a fantastic day of free entertainment for the kids.
A day packed with exciting demonstrations, rides, games, competitions and entertainment galore right on our beautiful foreshore with activities and fantastic prizes – a day filled with more crazy, free fun than ever before. This year we even have two ‘Drum beat’ Workshops held by the infamous ‘8 Ball Aitken’.
The extremely popular donut eating competition will be happening as will the texting competition. Other activities will include super crazy races, circus workshops, there will be face painting, PCYC play equipment and the awesome Eco Barge sculpture tent. Interactive reef education is the focus of a number of stalls, manned by various conservation, government and science groups, where the kids can learn about the reef system in a fun environment culminating in a giant treasure hunt for the kids with prizes.
Renowned artist and conservationist, David Day, will be on hand at this year’s Family Fun Day, crafting ‘messages in a bottle’ to adorn the trees of Fairy Tree Park. The community art installation created under his lead, through workshops at Lure in the Coral Sea Marina | Resort prior to the festival, will also be on display.
With a DJ pumping the music courtesy of LA Entertainment, and plenty of food and drinks on offer we will also have a relaxation area where the parents can take a break while the kids wear themselves out – its sure gonna be a fun filled day – great for the whole family!
Transport for the festival will be provided via a park and ride scheme courtesy of Whitsunday Transit.
After this event finishes the Beach Music stage will crank up and the bar will be open for the Sunday ‘Chill in the Park” with more live music from Elecktric Lemonade and Swoon.
